It is in fact time, to unpack all of that.

With the Full Moon on 7/29/26 conjunct Pluto retrograding in Aquarius WHILST opposing the Sun and Jupiter both in Leo (and the nodes have also entered their Aquarius/Leo era!)—there are a lot of big feelings, gut callings, intuition swirlings to shed outdated practices and to follow a bigger and better calling.

A reminder of what each planet rules:

• The Moon: our body and our emotions (also the past, nurturing, the subconscious)

• Pluto: transformations, power, control, psychology, the hidden & unseen

• Sun: who we are at our core (identity, ego, life force)

• Jupiter: growth, expansion, wisdom, optimism, & luck

  

Aquarius and Leo are on opposite sides of the axis, which means there is this magnetic push and pull balancing act of Self vs. Collective. Spotlight vs. Audience. Validation vs. Innovation. Heart vs. Head. Passion vs. Vision. Attention vs. Freedom.

What limiting belief is your ego attached to? Because now you’re being asked to let go of old habits, old structures, old authoritarian figures and mindsets and make room for bigger and better things. New opportunities. True alignment.

You cannot buy a new house and move your old childhood bedroom with all your trauma into it. How does that serve your new life?

Mercury is finally out of gatorade (and yes, I know we have three other planets retrograding right now) but clarity should be smacking you in the face because they are outer planets making you do a lot of internal work.

We are no longer dimming our light. We are no longer pretending to be someone we are not. And unfortunately, we cannot move backwards into a time that does not exist. Release your fears babe because it’s time to dream big.

The Rituals:

Cut Them Off: Grab two white candles, two pieces of paper, scissors, and some string. On one piece of paper you’ll write your name and place it under the candle. On the other piece of paper you’ll write what ever you want to let go (a toxic relationship, bad habits, old structures, trauma) and put it under the candle. Tie string to each candle, ensure the candles are properly spaced out. Light each candle, but before the fire can reach the string, you are going to CUT the cord yourself. You have control. Claim it.

Ripped To Shreds: If you have a list of ideas, notions, and people that you are ready to let go than might I suggest writing them all down. Then rip it to shreds. As tiny as you want. Then on a new page take on your good pens, your good stickers, your good pictures and call it whatever you’d like into this new space. You’ve metaphorically let go of the old shit. Remind yourself not to get stuck on the past anymore, but whatever you’re writing down for yourself now. Stick it on a mirror, keep it under your pillow, on your window sill, or fold it towards yourself and keep it in your wallet or purse. These dreams deserve to take up space.

Sit With It: I dare you to go outside and meditate in your feelings under the sun or the moon. Rain or shine. Try to ground yourself in the wind, in the scents, in the feeling of whatever energy is moving around you. This will be best done in the wild parts of nature where you can reclaim your name out loud. Reclaim your power. Reclaim your future. Do this at least three times.

Some of you may be thinking: whoa, Calliope, where’s my horoscope? At least if you’ve read several of my full/new moon posts by now you may come to expect those. Or maybe I’m just very self conscious and over explanatory.

Short answer is: I’m a bit burnt out.

Long answer: While I love doing the bi-weekly horoscopes for the lunar cycle I’d rather prioritize them for my birth chart clients who I know want the reading. Plus it gives me more time in my month to work on edits with my agent and critique partners, prioritize my health, plan a wedding, do more social media, and write more diverse things for you guys :)

Honestly, if you haven’t cried yet—more power to you (also who are you lying to?). And to those of you who have already this Cancer season…girl, same.

So first off, I’d like to sort of apologize for my radio silence for…ALL OF JUNE?! There was—if we’ve been paying attention to moon cycles—one full and one new moon in June. Here’s why I was quiet:

June was my 8th house profection month—Calliope, what does that mean?

Basically, like clockwork, each month everyone has a different focus of their life as they going through their house systems for the year that will be more impacted (could be good or bad depending on the transits). I will be doing a Substack on this later in the month—but it will be for my paid subscribers if you want to learn how to calculate your months and what could be affected for you every year.

June 14th there was a Gemini New Moon that impacted my 8th house (mental health, death, secrets, shared resources, loans, misc. fundings…) which is naturally ruled in astrology by Scorpio. Why is this important? Well I’m a Scorpio rising, which means (roughly 45 days after the Scorpio Full Moon impacting my 1st house of self) SOMETHING needed to die/change/transform in order for my new life to start.

So what did I do? Nothing big.

Just withdrew my entire 401k savings that I worked towards for the last decade so that I could quit my job and focus on my writing full time.

Then June 29th was the Capricorn Full Moon which impacted my 3rd house (communication, daily rituals & routines, socialization…). And you know what I was doing the entire month of June—running myself ragged over? Edits. Yours, mine, and ours. I swear I loved it though. But…yeah I was burning myself out. And the Strawberry Full Moon allowed me to harvest some goals that I planted 6 months ago (Capricorn New Moon 1/18/26)…but also it forced me to confront and place some boundaries that were impacting my every day life.

Anyways I’m back.

I hope June was kind to you. I love when the astrology is astrologing…but not with THREE different planets in retrograde.

And actually, before we get into the New Moon and everyone’s forecast…I really want to talk about one very specific transit that every should should have felt in their Cancer ruled house (according to their rising sign) for the past YEAR. Jupiter, the planet of luck, growth, and expansion, has been sitting in your Cancer ruled house from June 9th 2025-June 29th 2026 with some minor notes (it did go into a retrograde and it was exalted).

Now, I don’t have time to explain ALL of that here, but the quick spark notes of what you may have felt in your Cancer ruled house when you read your forecast is I don’t want you to think back on the past year and try to remember:

• Was I actually lucky in this house? Some people may have indeed seen a lot of opportunities (an overwhelming lot so, so much so that it could have ruined their life a bit—if that makes sense).

• Did I grow/expand in this house? With jobs, moneys, families, etc..? There was a bit of a trad mom baby boom epidemic because Cancer naturally rules the 4th house of the home/caregivers (so a lot of unplanned—or planned pregnancies last year)

But on the same day Jupiter moved out of Cancer, Mercury went into a Cancer Retrograde and we should be mulling over everything that happened to us, whether we are aware of it or not. This New Moon is going to help us shine a light on things and help us set some new intentions, that we can do by ourselves, without a (exalted) benefic planet on our side.

THE NEW MOON:

There is A LOT going on behind the scenes of this New Moon in Cancer, our cardinal water sign. So what should we anticipate to feel and do?

Well, Cancer is already ruled by the moon, and with Mercury in retrograde (also in Cancer) and the Sun in Cancer we are in Cazimi season as this zodiac sign, which naturally rules our 4th house of home, foundation, roots, and caregivers asks us: are you safe in your Cancer ruled houses? Are you at peace? You may have found yourself lately ruminating on past memories of your family, feeling nostalgic, probably even in conflict with your family, friends, or partners. Welcome to a retrograded Cancer season.

This New Moon is bringing an opportunity for you to pour your own cup until its full—overflowing with abundance even—so that you are authentically yourself. This season is all about resetting our nervous system (because the moon and mercury rules our mind and the sun rules our heart and blood streams).
